Target Group

Seafarers employed or engaged in any capacity on board ship.

Objective

The objective of Familiarisation Training is to ensure that seafarers who are going to work on a ship for the first time, know basic personal safety information that may save their lives and fellow crew members in the event of an emergency

Introduction

This learning opportunity is designed for the training of seafarers in any capacity wishing to pursue a career at sea. This learning opportunity is designed in such a way as To achieve the Survival at Sea competencies as described in the STCW and SAMSA Codes respectively.
