For whom

This course is intended for personnel having responsibility for the safety of passengers onboard in emergency situations.

Objective

To have general and working knowledge of crisis management skills in passenger ships in order to be able to manage crisis situations.

Course outcome(s)

On completion of the course the participant should, amongst others, be able to:
• Organise shipboard emergency procedures
• Optimise the use of resources in an emergency situation
• Control response to emergency
• Control passengers and other personnel during emergency situations
• Establish and maintain effective communications

Training information

The course is conducted in accordance with the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) Code as amended Section A-V/2 paragraph 6.

Teaching methods includes lectures, discussions, case studies and group work.

Assessment and certification

Instructors will assess the candidates through the observation of practical skills and a short written exam. Upon successful completion of the course and the practical modules, an international recognised STCW certificate will be issued by STC.

Number of participants

The minimum number of participants is 8 and the maximum is 16.

The cost of the course is to be defined once the final duration of the program is determined.
